Vietnam's Information Security Index ranked 50th out of 193 countries and territories

On July 23, the Prime Minister, Chairman of the National Committee on e-Government - Nguyen Xuan Phuc chaired the national online conference on the situation and results of e-Government implementation and the operation of the National Committee on e-Government.

Vice Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut, members and assistants of the Steering Committee on the implementation of the provincial e-Government attended the conference at Long An end-point bridge.

Up to now, 100 percent of ministries, ministerial-level agencies and 62 out of 63 provinces and cities directly under the Central Government (except Ho Chi Minh City) have established Steering Committees to implement e-Government; 100 percent of ministries, branches and 32 out of 63 localities completed the implementation plan of Resolution No.17/NQ-CP dated on March 7, 2019 of the Government on some key tasks and solutions to develop the e-Government in the period of 2019 - 2020, orientation to 2025.

The implementation of e-Government achieved some positive results; created a change in awareness and targeting digital Government, economy, and society; ensured the connection between the application of information technology and administrative reforms with the motto of citizens and businesses as the center.

In the first 6 months of 2019, the e-Government National Committee made efforts to carry out the key tasks such as gradually completing the synchronous legal framework on e-Government implementation; urgently implement important information systems, etc.

Up to now, Vietnam has operated several meaningful systems in the implementation of e-Government such as the axis of connecting national documents to send and receive electronic documents among agencies in the state administrative system; positive changes in the assurance of information safety. Especially in 2018, Vietnam was ranked 50th out of 193 countries and territories on the Information Security Index (up 50 levels compared to 2017).

Using the digital signature is one of the effective solutions to ensure information security

The Prime Minister, Chairman of the National Committee on e-Government - Nguyen Xuan Phuc asked the ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, government-attached agencies, chairmen of People's Committees of provinces and cities directly under the Central Government to continue to direct and mobilize resources to carry out the tasks of implementing e-Government to pioneer in using personal digital signatures to approve electronic documents as well as to ensure the implementation schedule and quality of tasks.

At the same time, he asked ministries, branches and localities to strengthen the guarantee of technical infrastructure; upgrade and improve document management software; integrate digital signature service solutions in accordance with the processes and legal values of electronic documents; urgently complete the Public Service Portal, electronic one-door information system at the ministerial and provincial level to connect with the National Public Service Portal; and finish the provision of online public services at levels 3 and 4 according to the approved list; and so on./.
