In recent years, the housing demand of people in Ho Chi Minh City has remained at a high level while housing prices are not suitable for the affordability of people in need and the development of land fund for implementing the project is increasingly narrow.

Accordingly, the selection of housing projects to be implemented in Long An province located in the area adjacent to Ho Chi Minh City is one of many trends of people who have demand for accommodation.

In order to meet the needs of customers, many housing projects have been implemented in Long An province, making the residential real estate market become vibrant, the price of land and housing increases, the number of real estate transactions increases successfully.

Developing commercial housing projects under the market mechanism contributes significantly to urban embellishment, promoting socio-economic development of the province, mobilizing resources for socialization from businesses, organizations and individuals.

In Long An, the development of commercial housing projects is concentrated in key economic areas neighbouring Ho Chi Minh City and Tan An City. Housing projects are developed with the following types of products such as villa houses, detached houses with adjacent construction. For this type of apartment, it has not been implemented much yet.

Currently, in the province, there are 258 projects, corresponding to about 6,938 hectares, which have been approved for investment policy, have been and are preparing for implementation. In which, Ben Luc district has 48 projects, Duc Hoa district has 91 projects, Can Giuoc district has 49 projects, Can Duoc district has 17 projects, Chau Thanh district has 1 project, Thu Thua district has 10 projects, Tan Tru district has 1 project, Tan Thanh district has 3 projects, Vinh Hung district has 1 project, Kien Tuong town has 4 projects, Tan An city has has 10 projects.

In addition, there are 56 projects, corresponding to about 40,914 hectares, approved by the Provincial People's Committee for survey and planning of residential areas and a part of industry spread across the districts of  Duc Hoa, Can Giuoc, Ben Luc, Can Duoc, Thu Thua, Kien Tuong town and Tan An city.

According to the province's housing development program, in the period of 2020-2025, the total commercial housing area will account for 20 pecent of the total additional housing area and 30 pecent in the period from 2026 to 2030. Specifically, in the period of 2020 - 2025, construction investment is about 2,925,000 square meters. In the period 2026 - 2030, construction investment is about 3,850,000 square meters./.
