Scholarships given to disadvantaged ethnic minority students

On April 17, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Long An province, and Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper jointly awarded scholarships to disadvantaged ethnic minority students in Long An province on the occasion of the Cultural Day of Vietnam's Ethnic Groups (April 19).

Former Permanent Deputy Prime Minister - Truong Hoa Binh, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Ho Chi Minh City - Pham Minh Tuan, Editor-in-Chief of the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper - To Dinh Tuan attended the ceremony. The program awarded 50 scholarships to ethnic minority students in the province. In which, 30 students are children of ethnic minority workers working in the province, 20 students are Khmer and Cambodian in the border area of the province. Each scholarship is worth 2 million VND in cash, sponsored by SSI Securities Joint Stock Company.

In addition, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City awarded 20 million VND to the Border Guard Command of Long An province. This gift was taken from the Fund "For the Motherland Sea and Island - For the Fatherland Frontline" of Ho Chi Minh City to recognize the great contributions of the border guards in protecting the border and peace for the country.
