Seedless limes officially have Geographical Indication Certificate and Certification Mark 'Ben Luc - Long An'
On July 4, the Department of Science and Technology organized a conference to announce the decision to recognize the Certificate of Geographical Indication and Certification Mark "Ben Luc - Long An" of seedless lime from Long An province.

Seedless lime is one of the key products of Long An province
Seedless lime is one of the province's key products, bringing high economic value to farmers in Ben Luc district and surrounding areas. Currently, the area growing seedless lime in Long An province reaches over 10,000 hectares, of which Ben Luc district accounts for over 60%.
Director of the Department of Science and Technology - Nguyen Minh Hai affirmed that the developing of Geographical Indication "Ben Luc - Long An" for seedless lime is a correct and timely policy of Long An province to preserve and protect the reputation and quality of the province's seedless lime.
After more than 2 years of implementing the project "Building, managing and promoting the Geographical Indication "Ben Luc - Long An" for seedless lime in Long An province" with Bachelor Dao Phuong Hanh as the director, CIPTEK Intellectual Property and Technology Research Center as the implementing unit, Long An was granted a Geographical Indication Certificate and a Certification Mark "Ben Luc - Long An".

The geographical indication “Ben Luc - Long An” for seedless lime is just the beginning. In the coming time, the Department of Science and Technology will coordinate with agencies and organizations such as the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the People's Committee of Ben Luc district, and the Department of Industry and Trade to continue to develop policies and guidelines to create conditions for organizations, producers and businesses to use Geographical Indications effectively.

According to Decision No. 173, dated March 15, 2024 of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Long An province on granting the right to use the geographical indication "Ben Luc - Long An" for seedless lime of Long An province, there are 3 units that meet the conditions including Ben Luc Agricultural Service Cooperative (headquartered in Luong Hoa commune, geographical area of lime production includes Ben Luc and Thu Thua districts); The Fruit Republic Can Tho Company Limited (headquartered in Can Tho City, geographical area of lime production includes Ben Luc, Thanh Hoa, Duc Hue, Thu Thua districts); Hoang Kim Vietnam Import-Export Company Limited - Long An branch (headquartered in Thanh Loi commune, geographical area of lime production including Ben Luc district).
