According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, within the framework of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (1973-2023), the "Vietnam-Japan Cultural Village" project, a beautiful symbol of the relationship between the two peoples of Vietnam and Japan in general and Long An and Japan in particular, has started construction. After more than 1 year of construction, the modern and valuable project is in the process of completion and preparation for inauguration and operation. This marks the birth of a meaningful Long An - Japan cultural exchange project in the province.

Vietnamese patriot Phan Boi Chau stated that Vietnam and Japan are two countries with "the same culture, the same race, the same continent". Although not geographically close, the two countries have many similarities and connections in culture, history, and people. Bilateral economic cooperation between Long An and Japan really began after the two sides establishing a Strategic Partnership in April 2009 and upgrading to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in March 2014, when Japan became the first country in the G7 group to establish a strategic partnership with Vietnam.

Currently, Japan ranks third among about 40 countries and territories with investment projects in Long An with a total registered investment capital of more than 993 million USD. These projects are mainly concentrated in the districts of Duc Hoa, Ben Luc, Can Giuoc and Tan An City. In the province, Japanese investment projects mainly operate in the fields of manufacturing artificial wood panels and wood products, mechanical engineering - machine manufacturing, manufacturing - assembling electronic components, mechanical processing, agricultural - aquatic product processing, garment processing, animal feed production, food processing, etc. The Japanese business community is one of the large business communities in the province and has made positive contributions to the socio-economic development of the locality.

This will also be an opportunity to widely announce to the people and businesses of the two countries Vietnam and Japan about a cultural project with many functions such as a cultural house, restaurant, exhibition area, miniatures and activities imbued with the cultural identity of Vietnam and Japan built in the Waterpoint Urban Area./.
