Striving to train high-quality human resources

High-quality human resources play an important role in the Industrial Revolution 4.0, contributing to socio-economic development in localities. Therefore, over the past time, Long An has synchronously implemented solutions to improve the quality of human resources.

Improving the quality of vocational education

This is an important task in human resource development, including high-quality human resources, because they are the core to quickly access scientific and technical advances.

Improving the quality of vocational education is an important task in improving the quality of human resources

Rector of Long An College - Le Quoc Hung said: "Over the past time, the school has always received the attention of all levels and branches in directing, investing in construction, and purchasing equipment for vocational training. In the period of 2021-2025, the school is invested 152 billion VND (local capital 75 billion VND, central capital 77 billion VND) in building warehouse, purchasing machinery and teaching equipment. Regarding international cooperation in training, the university continues to be supported by the German International Cooperation Organization (GIZ) in digital transformation and quality accreditation, contributing to fulfilling the criteria of high-quality college.

Vocational training to meet market demand is the direction of Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs for institutions. Accordingly, vocational education institutions in the province have actively cooperated with more than 200 enterprises inside and outside the province to deploy vocational training associated with job creation, improving skills for students.

In particular, vocational education institutions also cooperated with universities in Ho Chi Minh City and Mekong Delta region to organize university training by working or continuing education at higher levels. With the above efforts, up to now, the province's trained laborers have reached over 73.94%, of which, laborers with degrees and certificates reached 32.43%.

Going abroad and returning to build the homeland

Director of Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs - Nguyen Hong Mai said: “Going to work abroad, workers will have higher incomes than in the country, actively contributing to the country's foreign currency source, increase accumulation, improve personal and family life. In particular, workers working abroad also have access to scientific - technical advances and industrial manners. This high-quality human resource can actively contribute to the socio-economic development of the province after returning home. At the same time, this will be a cultural "bridge" between Vietnam and other countries in the world. Since 2020, the province has more than 1,000 laborers working abroad, of which the Japanese market accounts for over 90% with the age group from 18-30 years old. Particularly in the first 6 months of 2023, the whole province has 189 laborers working abroad; in which, Japan has 168 labors, Taiwan has 17 labors, and other countries has 4 labors”.

Ceremony sending former students, students of Long An College and young people in the province to work abroad

After the workers return from working abroad, they will be introduced by Provincial Employment Service Center to work at companies and enterprises operating in the province as experts or managers so that the process of going abroad really becomes a high-quality round-trip journey, contributing to the training of highly skilled human resources for the province.

Ms. Phan Thi Hoang Chau (Ward 5, Tan An City) shared: “I have many friends whose children go to work abroad, not only sending money back to their families, but also finding suitable jobs for foreign invested companies with high income after returning home. I chose Japan for my children to work because Japanese are hard-working. This is also a country with high development of science and technology compared to many countries in the world. Therefore, I encourage my children to work for 3 years. It is expected that by the end of 2023, my child will leave the country."

In order to participate in international integration and attract foreign enterprises to invest in the province, the training of high-quality human resources is an indispensable direction, suitable to the needs of society. The province is gradually doing well in this regard, contributing to the local development towards industrialization and modernization./.
